Saint is book 2 in the Paradise Trilogy by Ted Dekker. Saint works fantastic as a stand alone novel as a spy thriller novel with a supernatural fantasy bent. The story involves highly trained sniper assassins, a top secret organization, and a plot to kill the president. As a stand alone novel, I love it.
However, in my opinion, it does not work as apart of the Paradise Trilogy. It ruins one of my favorite characters, barely connects with book 1 (or book 3), and doesn’t feel like the same story at all. Maybe I’m being too harsh as it is a good book, but I personally can’t look at it by itself but as apart of a series.
